The late Nichelle Nichols, who portrayed Lt. Nyota Uhura on the original Star Trek series and helped usher in a new era in television in the 1960s, died in New Mexico at the age of 89.
We will miss Nichelle Nichols, but we’ll never forget the inspiration she has given to us all. She inspired both men and women, young and old.
