Senegal: Senegal’s Sonatel and Orange have been conducting 5G testing in Dakar since November 2020, although the network is still mostly inoperable.

Seychelles: Citizens expressed skepticism about the country’s 5G deployment in 2020, citing health concerns. A year later, inhabitants in six locations are receiving 1.2Gbps speeds from Cable and Wireless Seychelles for up to 100GB of consumption.

South Africa: The continent’s first 5G adopter brought out the technology on a temporary spectrum, but due to significant load on networks during the pandemic, Vodacom, Rain, and MTN were instructed to stop using it in November 2021.
