Peter Shalulile, the current DStv Premiership Player of the Season, currently leads the league in goals scored with 11. Shalulile will be eager to increase his total and assist Downs in getting back to winning ways.

Kagiso Malinga: The 28-year-old striker scored the game-winning goal against AmaZulu, his fifth of the year and the Swallows’ leading scorer. Malinga will try to lead Amaswaiswai to yet another triumph.

“The only thing we did—and even in the first half, you could see that we only scored one—was convert our opportunities. In the second half, I believe we produced two or three clear-cut chances. Yet, all we did was take advantage of Malinga, who has been performing admirably for us, to convert that opportunity.

“The Sundowns team is really strong. We won’t go there and try to discredit the many talented players who have already won the league. We want to compete in the hopes of scoring the most points possible.

Rhulani Mokwena, the head coach of Mamelodi Sundowns said these:

Mokwena remarked that the match “[was] a challenging game [against Cape Town City], a very difficult game against a good opponent with very excellent players on the pitch, but a good game of football.”

“I think this performance is far superior to Coton Sport’s and Al Hilal’s as well. Today’s performances were good, but there were several differences: in Sudan, we scored; in the previous game, we scored twice; today, we just couldn’t score;

But I thought today’s performance was good. We go again and get ready for Swallows and attempt to win the next one because in football you know you can’t win them all.
