As the teams entered halftime, the score stood at 1-1, but Simba emerged from the break feeling more rested. In the 72nd minute, Chikwende, who had been acquired from FC Platinum, scored on his debut by converting yet another cross from Kagere.
The reentering Ghanaian, Morrison, who was introduced by Coach Da Rosa, then put the game away for Simba. Morrison made an impressive entrance, scoring two goals in quick succession—the first in the 87th minute and the second in the 90th.
After suffering an injury and missing the Mapinduzi Cup match in Zanzibar, Morrison was returning to the team. Yanga SC won the championship by defeating Simba 4-3 on penalties after the teams tied 0-0 in regulation.Squad: Kikosi cha Simba vs Al Hilal 31 August 2022
