About Moshi Co-operative University(MoCU)
The Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) is a public university in the Tanzanian city of Moshi.
The Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) was founded on January 5, 1963, which is when this university’s history began. Training human resources for the cooperative sector under the Ministry of Co-operatives and Community Development was the college’s main duty. The college was later established as an independent institution with its own Governing Board through the Co-operative College Act No. 32 (Repealed) of 1964. Through the Government Declaration Order No. 22 of 2004, the Co-operative College Moshi was renamed Moshi University College of Co-operative and Business Studies (MUCCoBS), becoming the Constituent University College of Sokoine University of Agriculture.
MUCCoBS received a status upgrade in 2014 and became an official university. The chancellor at the time was the aforementioned Al Noor Kassum. The college offers degree, certificate, diploma, master’s, and PhD programs.
