He became known internationally through his song “my number one”. There are two versions of this song because he did one by himself and the other he did with artist Davido from Nigeria. This collabo brought benefits to Diamond Platnumz as he began to get international media coverage.

On May 3, 2014, Diamond Platnumz broke records after winning seven awards at the Tanzania music awards including best male writer, best male artist, best song writer and also best male entertainer of the year.

Diamond Platnumz started to love music when he was in school. When he was in the fourth grade, Diamond was performing with Tanzanian and international artists.
